About This Quote

This quote from Albert Einstein is a reminder that there are three types of people in this world. The first group is those who want things to happen for them. They don’t work hard and they don’t take chances. They just hope things will come their way.

They expect other people to do their work for them and they don’t try to establish good relationships with other people. This group of people have no ambition and they always fall back on the well-worn stereotype of the “moocher,” or whiner, who constantly complains about their lives. The second group is the wishers—the ones who believe that things will happen to them if they wish hard enough, but they don’t make the effort to make things happen for themselves.

They complain constantly and cast blame on others when things go wrong—they never take responsibility for any responsibility and blame everybody else for their own shortcomings. The third group is the makers—the ones who take action and set out to change their lives for the better. They work for what they want and they never give up on what they want.
